Multidimensional Evaluations Across a Wide Range of Settings

Dr. Gonzalez Boas offers a number of M.A.P.S. assessments including: comprehensive psychological evaluations, psychoeducational evaluations, ADHD and other Learning Disorders (LD) evaluations, Autism Spectrum (ASD) evaluations, developmental evaluations, neuropsychological screening, as well as vocational and career assessments.

M.A.P.S. evaluations are conducted nationally for a diverse group of programs including: wilderness therapy programs, therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment centers, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs.​ Dr. Gonzalez Boas also conducts evaluations locally in the Boulder/Denver Colorado Area.

Each evaluation is multidimensional to answer the referral question(s), so the batteries/tests selected assess the client across various areas of functioning . However, every M.A.P.S. evaluation also includes in-depth data gathering (including interviews) of the student, the parents, and any relevant parties (e.g., clinicians, consultants, etc.); along with a review of past testing and/or other relevant information. In addition to this data gathering, a series of psychometric batteries are administered to the client in person. These assessments are designed to answer the referral question(s), and this process generally takes between 4-8 hours.

A M.A.P.S. evaluation is comprehensive and integrative. It goes beyond just identifying psychopathology, personality, and learning issues in the client- it also identifies what impact various systems (family, school, peer groups, etc.) may be having in producing/maintaining the issues at hand. 

 

Our assessments always includes the client in the feedback/results process. In addition to this integrative approach to testing, a M.A.P.S. assessment always includes the client in the feedback/results process. What this means is that an additional feedback/summary report is provided to each client (a more in-depth report is provided to the parents/guardians of minors and any other relevant parties). This 'mini' report goes over the results of the testing in a clear and relatable fashion, and is designed to empower the client to be an active participant in the testing results and in his/her treatment process. Dr. Gonzalez Boas is also happy to schedule an additional call with any student that has questions or wants to go over the results via telephone.
